Kenneth Paul BROCKERT

1938 - 2017

BROCKERT, Kenneth Paul "Kenny/Kabo" 79, of North Fort Myers, Florida passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 28, 2017. He was born May 9, 1938 in Minster, Ohio, a son of Charles and Marion Brockert. Kenny worked 38 years as a tool welder for Delco Moraine in Dayton, Ohio. He also started K&B Manufacturing, a company that his son is now the owner of. Kenny was a volunteer firefighter in Dayton, Ohio for many years. He also served in the United States Air Force. He was a little league baseball coach for several years. After retirement, he spent many days fishing Lake Erie as a charter captain. He was a member of the Lake Erie Sport Fishermen. If he wasn't golfing, you would find him fishing. You would usually hear him whistling a happy tune or listening to his beloved Cincinnati Reds on the radio. Kenny had the kindest demeanor about him. He never met a stranger and would have given the shirt of his back to anyone in need. He enjoyed his weekly golf outings with his buddies. Kenny loved his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed watching his twin grand-daughters, Aubrey and Brooklyn dance and play t-ball. Survivors include his wife, Carol; son, Bruce (Sandy Smith) Brockert, of Marblehead, Ohio; his daughter, Beth (Roger, Jr.) Bacon, of Slidell, Louisiana. His grandchildren; Courtney, Roger III, Ashlee, Chay, Aubrey and Brooklyn; great-granddaughters, Claire and Lucy. Michele Wolkins, mother of Bruce and Beth, of Slidell, Louisiana; and seven nieces and nephews. He was proceded in death by his parents and brother, James Brockert of Vandalia, Ohio. Visitation for Ken will be held Friday, August 4, 2017 at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio from 10am until noon, with a service at the funeral home at noon. There will be a luncheon immediately following the service at Lighthouse Resort, 614 E. Main St., Marblehead, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to Shriners Hospital Children's Burn Unit, 3229 Burnet Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229 and/or Island Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary, 3620 E. State Road, Port Clinton, Oh 43452. The Family is very appreciative of all the love and support you have given them. Kenny's friendships meant the world to him.
