Mary FOLAND Obituary
News Death Notice
FOLAND, Mary Hazel Age 88 of Hamilton, passed away at Berkley Square on Friday, November 8, 2013. She was born in New Miami on December 18, 1924 the daughter of Thomas and Bessie (Parker) Stapleton. Hazel was a graduate of Seven Mile High School. On September 2, 1950 in Richmond, Indiana she married John H. Foland who preceded her in death 1988. Hazel was employed at Ohio Casualty for 39 years retiring in 1988. She was a longtime active member of Immanuel Baptist Church and volunteered at Mercy North for 12 years. Hazel enjoyed flowers, gardening, traveling, and especially being with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are nieces and nephews, Lois (the late Bill) Roof, Gary (Marcia) Jones, Marsha (Dennis) Tibbetts, Linda (Mike) Stephens, Lora Messer, Burt Stapleton, Kent Stapleton, Gene Stapleton, a special cousin, Kenny Rice, and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers, Robert Stapleton and Ed Stapleton, sister Fairy Jones, and a nephew Robert Stapleton. Funeral services will be conducted at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, 240 Ross Ave., on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Joseph Tassell officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 5 PM to 7 PM. Hazel's family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staffs of Berkley Square and Hospice of Cincinnati, especially nurse Teresa. Condolences may be left for the family at www.Webb-Noonan.com

I just learned of Aunt Hazel's death yesterday. I enjoyed talking to her on the phone from time to time and she loved my Uncle John very much. Wish I could have been there for her. She was a great person. Uncle John was my mother Pauline's brother.

Hazel was a wonderful person. She was always friendly and happy at Jazzercise. And a very brave person.

We will truly miss Hazel, especially at Jazzercise, where she was a regular 'student' for years. We loved her smiling face and wonderful outlook on life (and death!). She was a blessing to us all. Thanks to her niece, Marsha T, for bringing Hazel to class when she couldn't drive herself anymore. Marsha was a wonderful help to Hazel to the end.
