BECRAFT, Oliver Stanley 'Jack' BECRAFT, Oliver Stanley ''Jack'' Age 88 of Mt. Sterling, KY formerly of Middletown, OH died February 16th at his residence in the presence of his family after bouting a 2 year illness with cancer. He was born December 17, 1918 in Menefee County, KY. He is the son of Pete and Esther Becraft. He was a Deputy Sheriff of Frenchburg, KY for a number of years before becoming an operation engineer for McGraw Construction until retirement. Jack served in the US Army and was Veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Middletown. He was an avid coon hunter. He was a member of the Slate Creek Church of God. He is survived by wife, Christine; daughter, Joan Scearce Ford; three grandchildren, Cindy (Damian) Champ, Gail (Pete) Nickell and Teresa (Paul) Angel; three great-grandchildren, Scott Cole, Taylor and Lauren Nickell; sister, Nellie Lacey of MD and numerous family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; former wife of 38 years, Thelma Becraft; son-in-law, Larry S. Scearce; three sisters, Rosie Smallwood, Flora Jackson, Opal Alexander; two brothers, Ellis and Jim Becraft. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 20th at Herald & Stewart Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling, KY. His final resting place is Fagan Cemetery in Menefee County, KY.
