News Death Notice

CONNAUGHTON, Thomas age 72 of Hamilton passed away peacefully in Fort Hamilton Hospital on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 9:30 PM. He was born in Hamilton on November 20, 1938 the son of William and Margaret (Cogan) Connaughton. Tom was a 1956 graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School and a 1960 graduate of Xavier University with a B.A. in Business. Tom was employed as a systems analyst for Mosler Safe Company for 39 years, retiring in 2001. He was an active member of the K of C Fr. Roettele Council #8115 and a previous member of the K of C #968, a member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve from 1960 to 1966. Tom enjoyed playing golf, reading, and playing bridge with his many friends at Partners in Prime. On June 30, 1962 in Hamilton he was married to Marilyn Dunfey, and she preceded him in death in 2001; on July 12, 2008 in Fairfield he was married to Mary "Marty" (Cubellis) Sostarich. He is survived by his wife, Marty Connaughton of Hamilton; one son, Terrence (Diane) Connaughton of Sharonville; one daughter, Tricia (Gary) Glass of Blue Ash; two stepdaughters, Lynn (Walt) Dudek of Hillard, Ohio and Michelle (James) Sanford of Keller, Texas; also four brothers, William and James (Becky), both of Hamilton, Michael of Reading, and Mark of Fairfield; one sister, Mary Alice (Mark) Smith of Fairfield; and 11 grandchildren, Ryan, Meghan, Erin, Sarah, Sean, Kate, Shannon, Jack, James, Allison, and Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Sherry Connaughton. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Ronald Haft, Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Badin High School Scholarship Fund. www.browndawson.com
