Beth Cowen Jackson Bauerle, age 95, retired school librarian at Crystal Street and Eastside Elementary School, died on March 26, 2023. A celebration with her friends will be held at Woodland Park Baptist Church, Hammond on Saturday, April 15 from 1-2 p.m., with services following.
She said goodbye to her daughter-in-law Sherry Jackson, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. But she is gloriously glad to see her husbands W.K. Jackson and Dewitt Bauerle; her children, Keen Jackson and Linda Jackson; and grandson, Conrad King.
Mrs. Beth will be remembered by her many friends, International Order of Rainbow Girls, sisters in Fern Leaf Chapter #24 and Rachael Jackson #241 O.E.S. and at least four generations of Hammond's school children. She continued her passion for teaching at St. Thomas Aquinas High School and as a volunteer Sunday school teacher at Woodland Park Baptist Church.
She travelled well into her late 80s, visiting exotic countries like Germany, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia and Central America.
She was a talented cake baker and decorator (her secret was a tablespoon of almond flavoring ordered special from New Orleans). She even brought her Kitchen-Aid mixer with her to the Phoenix Assisted Living as you never know when someone needs a Cream Cheese Pound Cake.
