Virginia "Ginger" Lee Giovingo Bordok, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away at North Oaks Medical Center on Friday, May 27, 2022, at the age of 78. She was born on May 9, 1944, in Hammond, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Sam Giovingo and Virginia Schillage Giovingo. Ginger was warm hearted and nurturing especially with children. She operated a daycare from her home for many years and was a longtime supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. As a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, she will be missed dearly.
Ginger is survived by her sons, Gary Bordok and wife Lisa, David Bordok and wife Angie, and Steven Bordok and wife Greta; grandchildren, Hunter, Steven Jr., Alisa, Jacob, Dominick and Makenzie; great-grandchildren, Luca Mauer, Bentley Adams, Claire Bordok, and Kenzley Adams; brothers-in-law, Dennis Bordok, Sr. and Eddy Gerald; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ginger was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Eric Joseph Bordok; brothers, Sammy, Larry, Joe "Brother, " Pat, David, and Johnny Giovingo; and sisters, Mary Lulow, Josie Louk, and Rosalie Gerald.
Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond, Louisiana.
Memorial donations are welcome in Ginger's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
