William F. "Charlie" McCarthy, 102, of Baton Rouge, died Friday, July 18, 2025; service 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Hammond; interment at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery; arrangements with Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Hammond and Ponchatoula.

I have fond memories of him from many years ago, back in 1952-53. He volunteered as coach for boys basketball at Mater Dolorosa School in Independence. He was a fine man.
