Mae Whitmore Obituary

Mae Whitmore passed away suddenly of a massive heart attack on Monday, Sept. 8, 2008 at the young age of 66 while on her mail route for the U.S. Postmaster.

Mae was born Nov. 17, 1941 in Louisiana to Kester and Jo Fox (Cunningham). Mae made a loving, happy, fun-filled life for herself in Lemoore. She was well-known in the Island community for her caring, compassionate ways. Mae was an individual who was willing to do or give anything for someone in need. Mae found joy in being a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.

Mae was truly a dedicated, hard-working woman. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to her beloved husband Ralph Whitmore on their farm. Mae was a very strong individual who accepted everyone who entered her life for who they were, not what they had done. She always put others needs before her own. Mae had the opportunity to care for her mother before she was taken from us so suddenly. She was a favorite to all of her nieces and nephews.

Mae is survived by her husband, Ralph Whitmore; daughter, Renee East; son, Marc and his wife Anne Marie Whitmore; her grandchildren, Aaron and wife Melinda Whiteman, Sara East and Kristopher East; mother, Jo Fox (Cunningham); sister, Jo Ann Chism and brother, Bobby Fox. Mae is preceded in death by her father, Kester Fox and brother, Bo Fox.

She will always be remembered for her hospitality, caring, and selflessness. It is amazing how one's life can have such a beautiful impact on so many. We love you and will miss you terribly.

No public services were held.

Condolences can be sent to the Whitmore Family at 21210 Fargo Ave., Lemoore. CA 93245.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel in Lemoore.

I want to thank my sister Mary Frances Spoelstra for writing such beautiful words about our loving mom. You captured exactly who Mom was and will be remembered for in your words. Our family thanks you so very much. I know how good she was to you and your girls. May we keep those good memories together. Thank you sis, we could not have done it without you and those wonderful smiling children of yours (Neil too) !!! Love,
Anne-Marie & Whitmore Family
