MANUEL SILVA Obituary
April 21, 1937 – July 02, 2024
Manuel Soares Silva was called to heaven with family by his side on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. He was 87 years old. Manuel was a beloved father, Vovo, Great-Vovo, & cherished friend. He was born in Hanford, Ca & grew up in the Island District of Lemoore working on his family 's farm & dairy. He attended Island School & Lemoore High School. Manuel had a deep affection for art, nature, animals, & the outdoors which grew into a blessed 60-years working in taxidermy. His work is & has been enjoyed by professional athletes, celebrities, major theme parks, & many others nationwide. He is known for his signature Western style, & appreciation of the Old West, & simpler times. Manuel 's profound knowledge of all subjects, love for reading, faith in God, friendly nature, & willingness throughout his entire life to help others will be missed most of all.
He is survived by his son Manuel Silva Jr & wife Jennifer Silva of Hanford, Ca; Step-son, Salvador De Sousa of Hanford Ca; Daughter-in-law, Amy De Sousa of Lemoore Ca; 5-grandchildren Melony Odland & husband Aaron Odland of Lemoore Ca, Megan De Sousa of Sacramento Ca, Mark Silva of Lemoore Ca, Nicole Bratton & Husband Dylan Bratton of Lemoore Ca, & Darby Coelho of Hanford Ca; Two great-grandchildren, Ella Silva of Visalia Ca, & Tatum Bratton of Lemoore Ca.
He is preceded in death by his parents Diulinda & Antonio Silva of Lemoore Ca & his wife of 27 years Patrocinia Silva of Lemoore Ca.
A celebration of life will be held at South Valley Church in Lemoore Ca, on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 11:00 am. Repast to follow.

Manuel was polite, kind, and sensible. Would see him at kwik break all the time. He was always up for a chat. When i was a kid he stuffed a hawk i had found on the side of the road. He did great work. Whenever i see it i am reminded of him and will continue to be. May god bless him and his family. He will be missed.

Wht a good person u we´re to me I remeber always how I would have ur thanksgiving tray & ur order of tamales every holiday for 8 yrs u we´re & will be in my thoughts, you were always a good loving person will be missed, we all would wait for u to come into kwik break with a hello a drawing & a smile with ur cup of coffee.

Manny was my favorite person when I worked at Kwik break. He always had art books and Batman items to give me! I will never forget such an amazing human who was always kind and had such a great sense of humor. I will personally miss him for his visits to just talk about life.

This man was one of my childhood heroes! I probably wouldn´t be the artist I am today if not for him . I remember as a small boy sitting in my father´s taxidermy studio with Manuel sculpting animals from clay and just marveling at the talent that Manuel´s hands and mind possessed. Thinking to my self one day I will be as talented as this man! Just want to give my thanks to him for being a kind and honest man and thnk you for the story´s of old you will be truly missed love you Manuel;
