Michael Gary Hughes

1942 - 2011

Michael "Gary" Hughes, age 69 of Lemoore Ca., passed away Sunday Aug.28, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.
Born May 28, 1942 in Schenectady, New York. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1960 and got stationed at NAS Lemoore. In 1966 he met and married the love of his life Diana Lee Hughes. They moved to Japan where Kathleen was born in 1967, back to Lemoore where Michelle was born in 1971 then to Hawaii where Jeanette was born in 1977. Gary retired from the Navy in 1980 after serving 20 yrs., then began a career in Aviation Mechanics working for numerous companies before retiring again from West Air in 2006.
Gary enjoyed bowling, fishing at Avila Pier, trips to Disneyland and the mountains. He loved taking trips with his sweetheart to Reno and spending time at the Palace.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Diana, daughters and son-in-laws; Kathleen and Michael Dollman; Michelle and Noel Blanchard; & Jeanette and Gary Rocha. Voe's Grandchildren from the Dupree-Dollman family; Jeffry and Kayla, Joshua and Griselda, Jayce Lee, Crystal and Reggie, Jessica and Amanda, also the Darpli-Blanchard family; Aaron and Heather, Leanna and Sullivan, Brooke and Aaron, and Markelle, and the Rocha family; Gary, Mary, Gregary and Jilleann. And also Vi Voe's Great Grandchildren Logan, Brody and 3 expected; Kynlee Rose, Kadyn Nicole and one yet to be named.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday September 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lemoore Senior Citizens Center. Arrangements are by Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel.
