Robert G. Perez

1916 - 2011

Born in El Paso, Texas he moved with his family to Hanford, California at the age of 7 years old in 1923. There he met the love of his life Romanie Perez. He served in the US Army from January 1941 during World War II with a Honorable Discharge on October 1945. During his time of service he was a recipient of the Purple Heart, American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars. He worked for the State of California, Department of Transportation retiring after 25 years of service in 1976. During retirement Dad and Mom left summers of the heat and retreated to the Pismo Beach area with their travel trailer and enjoyed 25 years of camping in the cool atmosphere and just enjoying life to the fullest.
His preceded in death by his wife Romaine Perez, as well as his brothers Manuel Perez, Joseph Perez, sister Margaret Molano, grandsons' Robert Edward Perez and Matthew Joseph Lupercio.
Left to cherish his memories is his children Michael Perez, Daniel Perez wife Patricia, Corinne Borba husband James, and Georgia Lupercio husband Joseph. As well as 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Nettie Chavez, Mary Portugal and brother Raymond Perez.
The viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Rosary and Mass combination at 11:00 a.m. all being held at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 1001 N. Douty Street followed by Honorary Veterans Graveside Services at Calvary Cemetery on 10th Avenue.
