Shirley Ann Feldman

1929 - 2025

Shirley Ann Fangman Feldman, 95, of Harrison, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 13, in Harrison. She was a warm and wonderful person, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was born on February 1, 1929, in Dyer, Iowa to Albin Frank and Emma Margaret Herting Fangman. She attended the VIS Academy for Girls and was a member of the Tri Sigma sorority. In 1950 she married Glen Joseph Feldman and they had five children. She was a member of the Mary Mother of God Catholic Church where she helped with Sunday school classes and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was an active volunteer in the community and devoted many hours of service to the Boone County Library. She was a member of the Women's Book Club and a co-founder of the Boone County Bridge Marathon to provide needed funding for the Boone County Library. She was a member of the Boone County Hospital Auxiliary that knitted booties for newborn babies.
Shirley had many hobbies and interests and so enjoyed family traditions. She was a talented and fearless cook who never hesitated to try out a brand-new recipe at a dinner party. One of her favorite traditions was to bake special Christmas cookies and put them in tins for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A treat that was enjoyed by all and yes, if you didn't return the tins, you just might not stay on next year's cookie list. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glen; two sons, Jim and Joe Feldman; and a grandson, Barret Jones.
She is survived by her sister, Arlene Veltus of Racine, Wisconsin; two sons Mark (Nancy) and Jeff (Peggy), both of Harrison; a daughter, Judy (Jerry) Jones of Little Rock; her grandchildren, Grant (Martha) Jones of Little Rock and Natalie (Patrick) Sullivan of Tulsa, Okla.; five great-grandchildren, Foster, Rush and Virginia Jones and Liam and Vivienne Sullivan; and many nieces and nephews.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mary Mother of God Catholic Church with Fr. Benjamin Riley celebrating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.
