Andrew Shafer Obituary

Andrew Raymond Shafer, 20, of Broad Street, Danielson, and formerly of Scotland, died on Saturday, (October 27, 2001) as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on June 25, 1981 in Hartford, a son of Raymond and Debra (Tommasi) Shafer. Andy worked as a service writer for Nissan of Norwich. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed attending car shows. He had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. Andy will be remembered by those who knew him best for his warm smile and caring way. Including his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Timothy and Casey Shafer of Scotland; a sister, Jennifer Geer of Mansfield; his paternal grandfather and wife, Willis and Lillian Shafer of Scotland; his paternal grandmother and husband, Beverly and Robert Davis of Colchester; his maternal grandfather and wife, Christopher and Betty Tommasi of Bozrah; his maternal grandmother and husband, Jeannette and Raymond Strede of Crystal River, FL; a niece and two nephews, Eric, Jessica and Kyle Geer; a special uncle and aunt, with whom he resided, Ronald and Shelly Tommasi of Danielson; his longtime companion, Jamie Biskupiak; and numerous loving family members and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 11 a.m., at The Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery in Colchester. Calling hours will be held TODAY, 5-8 p.m., and Tuesday morning, 10-11 a.m., at the funeral home.
