Annette Louise LUGAS

LUGAS, Annette Louise (Mastalerz) Annette "Anne" Louise (Mastalerz) Lugas, 93, lifelong resident of Enfield, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, (March 16, 2010) at Parkway Pavilion. She was born in the Thompsonville section of Enfield on September 7, 1916, to the late Michael and Anna Mary (Ludwin) Mastalerz, and was the widow of Joseph William Lugas, who died in 1969. Annette was employed at Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Company until its closing. She was a faithful communicant of St. Adalbert Church and was the housekeeper at the rectory for 30 years until her retirement. Annette was a member and past president of the Polish Women's Alliance; member of the Polish National Home Association; member and past president of the Polish Democratic Party; and a member of the Building Committee of "The Big K". She traveled worldwide and enjoyed reading, crocheting and playing cards, especially Setback. Annette is survived by her loving family, her daughter, Dianne Grenier and her husband, Albert, of Enfield; a sister, Michaline Pauluh of Windsor Locks; her cherished grandchildren, Michael, Elizabeth, Christine, Alan, Michelle, and Jennifer Curtis-Gray and her husband, Corey; her great-grandson, Noah Curtis-Gray; several nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Elaine and her husband, Stanley. She was predeceased by her son, Donald J. Lugas; her brother, Stanley Mastalerz; and a sister, Adele Blazejczyk. Annette's family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Parkway Pavilion, especially Becky and Israel, for the care and attention given to her and to them. Family and friends may gather on Saturday, March 20, 2010, by 9 a.m., at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels for a procession to St. Adalbert Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., followed by burial in St. Adalbert Cemetery. Anne's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, March 19, 2010, from 4-7 p.m., at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT.
