Arrice NAPPER Obituary

NAPPER, Arrice, Jr. Arrice "Sonny" Napper, Jr., 82, of 75 Elm St., Enfield, CT, passed away on Saturday, (February 13, 2010) at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Hartford, CT, on June 16, 1927, he was the son of the late Arrice Napper, Sr. and Mae Owens Napper. He attended Hartford Public schools and graduated from Weaver High School Class of 1946. Prior to his retirement in July, 1982, Arrice was employed by The Metropolitan District and the U.S. Postal Service. He was a U.S Navy Veteran of World War II; he served courageously aboard the USS Golden City. On July 12, 1972, he joined the Shriner Temple # 172 Hartford, CT. He was a member of Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church where he served on the Usher Board. At the time of death he lived in Enfield with his Son Mark Napper, daughter-in-law Cresencia and Baby Grandson Mark Anthony Napper. Arrice leaves to cherish his memory, his five beloved children, Janice Napper of Aurora, CO, Aaron Napper and wife Deatrice of Windsor, CT, Karen Broughton and husband, Michael, of Manchester, CT. Mark Napper and wife, Cresencia, of Enfield, CT, and Lisa Moorehead-Messier and husband, Emery, of Broadbrook, CT; two sisters, Mildred Napper Smith of Windsor, CT, and Mattie Hall of Clearwater, FL; eight grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be celebrated on Monday, February 22, 2010, at 11 a.m., at the Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church, 2051 Main St., Hartford. Calling hours will be at the church on Monday, from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be at the Mountain View Cemetery in Bloomfield, CT. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the All Faith Memorial Chapel, South Windsor, CT Funeral Home.
