Barbara Ann Arre

Barbara Ann (Kopczewski) Arre, 82, of Newington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen Arre for 62 years. Born in Hartford, daughter of the late Joseph and Stephania (Ostrowski) Kopczewski, she was a lifelong Newington resident and a parishioner of St. Mary's Church. Barbara was employed with the Parks and Recreation Department of the Town of Wethersfield for over twenty years before her retirement and was always involved in helping during work events. She was a member of the Polish American Club Women's Auxiliary and she enjoyed flower gardening, baking and keeping a pristine home. Barbara was fond of birds, traveling with her husband, taking walks, reading, and entertaining guests in her home. A loving and devoted mother, she leaves her daughter Cheryl Arre and her son Stephan M. Arre, both of Newington. She also leaves her sister Carol Jordan of Berlin and many nieces and nephews. Her family wishes to thank the staff of The Pines of Bristol for the care and compassion shown to Barbara during her time there. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, October 17th, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Newington.
