I hadn´t seen Barbara in years. We were neighbors on Newton Street in the west end of Hartford. I used to babysit Billy and Siana. She was definitely full of life and I´ll never forget her loud infectious laugh and lack of a filter. I wish I had kept in touch with the family. She will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to all Barbara’s family & friends. Barbara was a legend! I haven’t seen her in 4 years but I can still see her and hear her in my mind. Barbara was a live wire, full of energy, opinion’s and a kind heart. Barbara knew I was a collector of smooth flat beach rocks, she surprised me one day with a bag full from Nova Scotia. That bag must have weighed 50 pounds and they were all gorgeous. I still have them in my gardens and have shared a few with others. The obituary and picture are perfect. R.I.P. Barbara! You will be missed.

To the entire family. The first time I met Barb was sometime in elementary school. Mike L and I were hangin out with Max at the old house near Whiting Lane. We were not supposed to be in the house without Barb being home but of course we were and we got into the Oreos. All of a sudden we heard a car door and Max’s face went pale and yelled HIDE!!! Mike and I hid outside of the kitchen and Barb came in full Barb force....no hello just, IS THAT OREO ON YOUR FACE!!!! Not sure why that sticks out in my mind but from there on out she was a second mother to me and the rest of the kids she helped raise. Barb is one a million. The stories are endless!
Ashley and I send all the love from Florida.

To all of Barbara’s family I send my deepest sympathies. To know Barb was to love her. I spent many hours of knowing her and listening to her “harsh” way but her only way of speaking of love for life family and friends. She definitely was one of a kind. I will miss her smiling face and zest for living. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers and I hope to continue to seeing you all. My best and sending my love. ❤❤ Ginny

Barb you were a true light in my life. You taught me to be myself everywhere, everyday, no matter who’s watching. Yup- it gets me in trouble at times, but I’m never ever changing...You left an indelible mark on my heart. I will miss you and your outlandish comments while up in stirrups♥♥ CLW

Barb was an institution! Everyone who knew Barb knew exactly where you stood. Harry’s might have a line out the door, with Mark behind the counter turning out pizzas in record speed & Barb always found time to swing by your table, often with a wise crack. Both of our daughters worked at Harry’s, one started with Harry, the other with Barb. We often said if you trained under Barb and you lasted, you could work anywhere! We’ll miss that very authentic woman. Sympathies to Max, Margaret, Siana, & Mark.

My sympathies to all of Barbara's family. She was a breath of fresh air when she came into the bank. We had many closed door sessions discussing a variety of topics and problems while laughing and crying. Her obituary and picture captures her perfectly. My deepest sympathy to Barb’s family especially Elizabeth and Siana! Two of my very favorite students at Parkville. All the teachers wanted Barb’s kids in their class because at Christmas she made the best plate of cookies for a present. I had the pleasure of witnessing her wedding when she had just opened a pizza shop in the Parkville neighborhood. I still have fossil bones she brought me from a trip out west. She was so full of life.. all wonderful memories I have of her and her family. Carole Whinnem Clifford

Barbara - a might force! Loving, loyal , funny, irreverent, and always honest. I loved her heart! She made such a positive difference in so many lives and she lived life to the fullest. This world will miss her. So much love to her family, whom Barb loved unconditionally and fiercely. Barb was a remarkable woman- her legacy will live on in those who loved her.

Your obituary says it perfectly. Barb was a dynamo, just full of life. And lots of surprises too - never a predictable moment! She was truly one of a kind. And she'd be thrilled if Biden gets a few extra votes on her behalf. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to everyone in her huge family who loved her and will miss her tremendously. Especially all the grandkids, who meant the world to her.

The world was definitely a more interesting place because Barb was in it. In a time where there are no "characters" like our parent's generation Barb was one of only a very few of our generation. Opinionated, unfiltered and never boring. Barb- thanks for being who you were. RIP. To those she left behind: there is no shortage of memories. Thanks for sharing her with the rest of us. Think of her often and smile. Bob DeGemmis

To Barbara's Family,
Back in 5th grade at Hebron Avenue school, Barb and I became great friends. She wore glasses and I so wanted to be like Barb, I, too, wanted to wear...got them, finally. I think she was left-handed and I would often watch her as she drew and doddled. Visiting her on Benton Lane, we listened to "louie, louie'" trying to figure out the "dirty {hahaha}" lyrics. Years had separated us but while working at Parkville Community School in the 70's or 80's, I saw a woman walking her daughters into the school. For some reason, I looked up the cum for one of our students and saw "Mother: Barbara Lang." I couldn't believe it was Barb. My last contact with Barbara was for our 40th reunion when I went down to see her in S Glastonbury. After knocking on the door, Barb answered, I introduced myself, and Barb's first comment, "You look better since you've gained weight." I never forgot what she said~~~completely Barbara~~. We sat together and chatted.
The photo of Barb is such a wonderful, joyful remembrance with such a beautiful smile and beautiful teeth {she had braces, I think, in elementary school}.
My God bless you as you remember your mom.

Barb was a bright, intense light - so, so very funny, occasionally a bit crude :-), insightful, smart, passionate and sometimes just plain crazy. She made working at Harry's such a fun, colorful experience for me and, later, for my daughter.
Mark, Elizabeth, Siona, Max and Margaret, I am thinking of you all in this time of loss.
