Barbara Mae Lindner

Barbara Mae Lindner, 74, of Stafford Springs, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 23, 2023.

Barbara was born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Gustave F. and Mae Emma (Allen) Lindner, grew up in Franklin Square, and graduated from Valley Stream North High School, Class of 1966. Her mother was a nurse and from the time she was a young girl, Barbara knew in her heart that she wanted to follow in her mother's footsteps and be a nurse as well. She graduated from the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing in 1969, started a long and successful career at Hartford Hospital, and dedicated her life to caring for others. Barbara started teaching the art of Nursing in 1987 at vocational schools in Middletown and Manchester and retired after over 25 years of service. She loved nursing, was always very devoted to her patients, and dedicated herself to teaching a new generation of nursing students each year.

Barbara was a loving daughter, nurse, and dear friend. She will fondly be remembered as a woman who loved her family, friends, and pets more than anything. Barbara also loved all animals, gardening, traveling, and photography. She leaves a legacy of beautiful memories that will live in the hearts of everyone she knew, loved, and cared for.

Barbara is survived by her dear friends, Nancy Robichaud and her husband Roland of Warwick, RI, Theresa Farr of Windsor Locks, Judith Parsick of Tilghman, MD, and Nancy Savas of Southport; as well as other friends and neighbors.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her brother, Charles Allen Lindner, who was killed in action during the Vietnam War.

Friends will gather on Thursday, June 29, 9:30-10 a.m., with a Nurses Honor Guard Service, 10 a.m., followed by a Prayer Service, at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Burial will take place in the family plot in Middle Village, NY.
