To Jeff, Sharon, Susan and all the Lords: Your father was a wonderful man and I am so glad to have known him this past 15 years. I will always remember the special twinkle in his blue eyes -- I have no doubt he's got them all smiling in heaven right now.

Our sincerest sympathies to the Lord family. It was an honor and privilege to be part of Mr Lord's health care team. It was obvious in getting to know him, and meeting his family that he was a great man Our thoughts and prayers are with you. With love and sympathyJohn Romano and Kelly Keaveney

To Ben's family,
My husband and I were in a Bible study with Marian and Ben for many years through Fellowship church. We had lots of laughs and good times with them. Ben was a very strong Christian man. He used to take notes at church and at our Bible studies in small notebooks and in his bible. He told me they were for his grandchildren and when he passed on he hoped they would read them and get closer to the Lord while reading his notes. I didn't have grandchildren at the time, but thought it was such a nice idea. A few years later when I had my first grandchild I started doing the same. I now have quite a few notebooks to pass on. So Ben has helped to influence my grandchildren too. We will miss him but know he is so happy and pain free now.

My heart goes out to Sharon, Jeff and Susan. And especially Meghan and Melissa. So much of their childhood was spent at Gram and Gramps house. I am blessed to have been a Lord for many years. Ben and Marion were the most loving and caring people, especially when it comes to family. They were always ready and willing to help anyone. They touched so many hearts over the years. Ben is now reunited with her and in the presence of his Lord Jesus Christ. May God's grace and mercy comfort you at this difficult time. My love to you all.

Reading on-line COURANT items produced sad news this morning down here in Florida. Benny Lord dead? It doesn't seem possible that our lifelong memories inevitably lead to such news. We consider Ben (and Marion too!) among our fondest recollections of growing up in Marlborough and East Hampton.
Ben's dad was our Boy Scout Leader, and Ben was one of the standout members of our little group during World War II. Like ours, his high school romance lasted forever, and we enjoyed reminiscing with him and Marion on the too-infrequent occasions that reunited us through the years.
They were the salt of the earth that flavored our relationship and we'll always think of him -- and her -- most joyfully.
