Bruce Weintraub Obituary

Bruce M. Weintraub, 60, of Manchester, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at home. He was born on July 21, 1958 in Manchester one of four sons of the late Aaron and Helen (Miller) Weintraub. Bruce was raised in Manchester, attended local schools and was a graduate of Manchester High School, Class of 1976. Prior to his retirement due to his health, Bruce was past President of his family's business, General Services Inc. of Manchester. He was an avid golfer and was a former member of Manchester C.C. and Cedar Knob in Somers. Bruce enjoyed sports and was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox & New England Patriots. He was a very talented carpenter, woodworker and handyman. Bruce could fix anything, and he donated much of his time building sets for theatrical productions at the Y.M.C.A in Vernon. Bruce is survived by his daughter Stephanie Weintraub and her daughter Madelyn Mae Redmond both of Vernon, his three brothers; Robert Weintraub and Kerrie McAloon of West Kingston, RI, Daniel Weintraub and his wife Halina of Ellington and Richard Weintraub and Donna Manning of Manchester, several nieces and nephews, his former wife and friend Janet Pearson and her husband Chris of South Windsor and his cousin June Barnett of Enfield. In addition to his parents Bruce was predeceased by a daughter Shelley Weintraub. Family and friends are welcome to attend a time of visitation at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St in Manchester on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 1-4 pm with words of remembrance at 4 pm followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Brain Injury Alliance of Connecticut, 200 Day Hill Road, Suite 250, Windsor, CT 06095 or online at www.biact.org.
