An extraordinary and remarkable man who was a guiding light during my adolescence. I only wish I had the opportunity to share his company and wisdom later on in my adult life.

I was so sorry to read that he had passed. What a fantastic guy! He was a joy to work with at the Beacon City School District where he volunteered to help our young students. He will be missed by many.

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same. Flavia Weedn
Rev. Bruce Wood was a special soul sent from God to my church family. He brought caring, healing, and compassion to everyone he met. He left an imprint that continues to emulate on all the hearts and souls he has touched. I am honored to be one of them.

My deep and sincere condolences to the family of Doctor Wood. I met the inspirational man around 1979 when I returned to school for a Masters in counseling at SCSU. My anxiety was high as it had been a few years since I had stepped foot in a University. Doctor Wood was my first professor I encountered and shortly thereafter became my advisor. Doctor Wood impressed me with his genuine sincerity for caring about his students success. As a result my anxiety diminished and I went on to have a successful completion of the program. My confidence instilled with the assistance of Doctor Wood aided in my going on to direct programs for children and families and remaining involved with Doctor Wood for a short time by taking on his students for their field placements.I also continued to advance my studies, earning an additional degree. He was a great man in my eyes, and even though we lost touch back in the mid 80's I still share his name and my experiences learning from him.
RIP thank you Doctor Wood
