Carol Jean Lewandowski

Carol Jean (Callahan) Lewandowski, wife of retired officer Mike Lewandowski of the Suffield Police Department, died Saturday, (April 12, 2003) after a brief illness. Born in Winsted, she was a daughter of the late Hubie and Rose (Kuzca) Callahan. She was a graduate of Torrington High School and worked for over 25 years for Flying Tigers in Windsor Locks and most recently as a Customer Service Agent for Nippon Express in East Granby for the past 12 years. Besides her husband of 16 years Mike, she leaves a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. A brother, Timmy Callahan predeceased her. Family and Friends may gather on Thursday, 9 a.M. at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St., Suffield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Suffield. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Suffield. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington 06111 or charity of donor's choice.
