Charlotte BENNETT

BENNETT, Charlotte (Miller) Charlotte (Miller) Bennett, 102, of Avon, wife of the late Frederick Avery Bennett, died Saturday, (November 6, 2010) at McLean in Simsbury. She was born November 26, 1907 in Hartford, daughter of the late Benjamin Norton Bugbee Miller and Mary Ann (Jones) Miller and had lived in Avon since 1954. Mrs. Bennett was a Supervisor for the State of Connecticut Motor Vehicle Department for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member and former President of the Senior Citizens of Avon and was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Avon having served on the Episcopal Church Women group, the Altar Guild and Floral Committee. Charlotte enjoyed needlepoint and spending time with her family. She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Roxane and Eugene Morse of North Ferrisburgh, VT and Donna and Harrison Redford of Canton; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and several nieces. There are no calling hours. Funeral service will be celebrated Wednesday, (November 10th), 10 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 35 Harris Road, Avon with the Reverend Jon Widing and the Reverend Halsey Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford.
