Daddy,
1 year has past. Can't believe we made it through but we did. Still is hard but thank god we all have each other to get us through. Not a day goes by that Im not loving you or thinking of you but now days I keep my head up and instead of tears of sorrow I shed tears of joy. Remembering the many good days and preparing for the great days to come. I feel u with me and I know your still there for me. I miss you sooooo much!!!! We all Do.

To Chris friends and family, I ran across this poem and felt that it was appropriate for you
ALWAYS IN YOUR HEART…
Hush now, please don’t cry
There comes a time when we all die
Just take heed now that I’m at peace
And from my pain I have release.
I will always be watching over you
Our love will always be held true
Don’t you weep now, don’t you mourn
For my heart will then be torn
Just remember the good times we shared
Knowing that we always cared
I’ve not gone away, we’ll never part
As I will always be in your heart.

Hey sweetie,
It was a pleasure to have you by my side for the first 55 days in 2006. It’s hard to believe that on February 24th @ 10:18 pm will mark one year since you passed. I miss you more than words could ever express. For most of 2006, our house was a hurtful reminder of the love and memories that we never got a chance to create together and the year didn’t leave quick enough for me. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I’m finally starting to live and not just existing day to day. My attitude has changed and our house now feels like a home. You may have not gotten the opportunity to share it with me but I often think back on January 21, 2006. This was the date that you, chaiz, Kiara and I saw the house for the first time. We were all excited and right away knew this was going to be our home. That memory is enough to keep me smiling for years to come. I can’t promise that my weeping will stop, but every time I raise my face to the sun to feel its warmth, I will smile and think of you. As I always end my message to you.
“YOU ARE… AND WILL ALWAYS BE… MY EVERYTHING”…
Love Gloria…

May God continue to bless the Canty Family, Gloria and those who loved and miss Chris. May God continue to give you all the love, comfort and strength you all need to continue on in this life until you see your beloved Chris again.
May all those whom Chris left behind carry on his legacy of love and of being a good & caring person, by being that way themselves. Use the good that he taught and live the love that he showed. Carry him not only in your memories but in your actions by being the successful and positive people that he worked so hard to reach and teach others they can be.
God bless you all.

Ya’ll was dancing so hard like David did, that John & Ernesto started cutting up. But that’s alright. I know for sure, I got get myself together to make it into Heaven so I can dance, dance, dance all-night.

Hi Uncle "Daddy" today is Sept.2nd and once again it is your day. But it's also a day without you here with us. I never imagined that this would be one of the only ways I could say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you. Why is that I still feel like a little baby that cries everytime your name is mentioned or when I look at your picture I just want you to hold me like you use to. I miss those big arms wrapping around me. But because of the type of person that you are I will make sure that we have a big backyard BBQ just for you. I really miss you and wish you the happiest of birthday's. Love you always and forever. I will look to the sky and remember that handsome face and that model smile. Shanda

Hey sweetie, it’s been a little over six months since the last time I heard your laugh or felt your embrace. I miss you so much. The first thing I do when I rise in the morning and go to sleep at night is ask for peace, strength and guidance to help me make it through the day. He has not let be down yet. Tomorrow is your birthday and it’s going to be so hard not having you hear, but your friends and family will party for you in your absence. You are and always will be, my everything.

To all who still grieve:
We know that it is hard to continue on without my uncle Chris, he is a man that will truly be missed. None of us will ever understand why his life was cut so short. But one thing we can say is that he touched many hearts and lives. We all got to see first hand how special my uncle really is. March 3rd 2006 proved it. My uncle chris was and still is a celebrity. People from all over the world and from every race came together for him. That within it's self was a powerful thing and something only a powerful man could do. I just want to thank everyone for being their to support him as well as his family. The things you all did will never be forgotten. He was and will always be my ANGEL and held high on my pedestal. I love you always and forever. I will make sure to carry on the legacy that was left behind. And fulfill his dreams. God bless. Love your niece Shanda

A MESSAGE FOR 6’8”
To the man of the hour
Children look up to you
Women want to be your boo
Men just want to be you
Mom’s adore you
Dad’s wish they had a son like you
It’s been a long hard month
To except that you are no longer with the living
But rest assure, that you are thought of daily
Your loving and caring spirit
Is like a ray of sunshine
That warms our faces each day
Our tears are not tears of sorrow
But tears of remembrance
Your loving smile
Your crocked walk
Your crazy laugh
Your dance moves
Your style of clothes
Your cus outs
The attention you got when you walked into a room
And lets not forget your zest for life!
We will not be sad that your time has come to an end
Instead, we will smile that we were honored with your presence
Just remember that to the world you were just one person
But to those of us who loved you, you were our world
So to the man of the hour
We have nothing but love for you
We’ll meet again on the other side
Hugs and kisses…
Forever and a day…
Your are and always will be my everything.... Your boo Gloria...

My Dear Dad
Although we are apart now
You're always in my heart,
In every single thing I do
You still play a part.
When I have to make decisions
And I don't know what to do,
Once again my mind, I find
Will go right back to you.
I think of how you'd handle it
And try to work it out,
It's at times like this I really miss
Having you about.
Not only for this reason
When things are going bad,
There's a million different reasons
Why I miss you Dad.

As we grew up I did not see him very often, but when I did he alwys remembered what he learned from my father. He was very proud of being able to play the drums. We have that in common. You have my deepest condolences on the loss of yor child, brother, uncle, father, friend Six. I know the loss of a Loved one are times for us to endulge in selfishness about how it affects us and how we feel and what we have lossed it is only natural to go there briefly, but we can take these opportunities from the present on forward to focus on what the Loved one has meant to us and what he/she has done to enrich our lives. It is safe to say that we will me much better off Loving the life of the Loved one as opposed to dwelling on the passing.
Again my deepest condolences to friend's and family of Six.

To the Canty Family:
When I think of building #13, the one BIG family that we all shared (Gillespie /Howard/Grice /Williams / Bell/Canty/Jackson) As an adult, I can say that it was truly a blessing to have so much love surrounding us in our early years. I will never forget the fun times that we shared, including the times that we got into trouble together. Thank you all for the many good memories that I often enjoy sharing with my kids. Chris, you will be deeply and dearly missed, but never forgotten.
Forever in our hearts
Sincerely,
The Williams Family

No amount of time can prepare us for loss, and no one can fully understand your sorrow--But many hearts are with you, hoping you will have the strength you need to see you through this difficult time. I only knew Six for a short time, he was a friendly and giving person.

To Ernie and the Canty family.
Stay strong in this time of sorrow.I will never forget the good times I had growing up when I would visit my cousins Destry and Cody in the Square and just hang out on the basketball courts with you, Chris and several other fun people sometimes until 2 o'clock in the morning just laughing and joking about a little bit of everything. I last saw Chris a few months ago while ordering pizza and It was a joy to see him as we got to chat and catch up a little. I'll never forget that awesome slam dunk against Weaver at Weaver High School back in the day.
I would always remind Chris of that famous slam dunk everytime I saw him. Stay strong Ernie, Chris was a good man and will be missed.

BUT IM NOT COMPLAINING OR ANYTHING THATS JUST HOW HE WAS..IM GONNA MISS HIM SO MUCH BUT HE WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART ALWAYS. ONE OF THE THINGS IM GONNA MISS MOST IS HIM TELLING ME TO GO JUMP IN THE LAKE .. HE WOULDNT CARE IF IT WAS 90 DEGREES OR 4 DEGREES HE DIDNT CARE BUT THAT WAS HIS WAY OF SAYING HE CARED...
I'M JUST SAD THAT HIS NEPHEW JAIDEN, WILL NOT GET A CHANCE TO LET HIS UNCLE& GODFATHER RAISE HIM UP TO BE THE YOUNG MAN HE'S GOING TO BE!

To The Canty Family,
I met Six through Jackie Bethea in California we have had some long talks about the youth in Hartford during our recruiting of basketball players. His knowledge of what the youth of Hartford wanted and needed helped us bring a few to our school in Mass. A stong man and a true friend to Jackie as we are sure who was also true to his family.
May God Bless all of you.
