So sad to hear this...7 years later. Chris and I were very close during our Allegheny years. I enjoyed visits to Killingworth, a trip to Provincetown, and all the crazy shenanigans of two college kids. He was always fun and liked to do the unexpected. So sorry for your loss.

Attorney Grotz was the best legal adviser. He helped me so much as a new property owner in Connecticut. He was excellent, and helped me navigate property laws. I will miss him greatly and never had the chance to meet him in person. We always worked via the phone or the internet. I know he is sleeping with the angels for helping me, and so many others. Was not your typical lawyer with high rates and no results. A very special person. My deepest condolences to his family.Toni Akin

I am still numb and my heart aches that he is gone! My sincere condolences to Chris and Ellen's children and to his whole family. I'm so sorry!!!!! Chris and I were childhood friends in Killingworth and stayed friends our whole life. I was planning to come to Connecticut to see him this week actually in New Haven. Another lesson I didn't want to be taught that stabs me in the heart... you think you have time. You don't. I am deeply saddened by his death. Rest In Peace my my dear friend. You were loved.

Such incredibly sad news. Chris helped me greatly during my divorce and I am forever grateful to him. He had such a big heart and witty sense of humor and I'm sure God and the angels are enjoying his presence in heaven. My condolences to All his family and friends.

Maria...saw you earlier tonight, offered my condolences...saw a brief announcement on your brother's passing ...read The Hartford Courants' considerably more detailed obituary...and left me really admiring a man that I never had the pleasure of meeting...and also gave me pause, realizing that this man had accomplished so much and not able to enjoy his golden years is very sad ....I certainly like to think he is in a better world now ....
My deepest condoences to you and all family members and friends.....Greg Steed...

To Toby, and to the parts of Chris's family that don't know me:
From the day I showed up in the old Grange Hall in January 1965, Chris was always there with a welcome and a smile. We spent lots of time on the trails and in the camps together, missed too many years in the middle, then had some great visits over the last few years. I'll miss a true friend.

My heart goes out to Chris' children and siblings during this very difficult time. I lost my sister, Polly Card O'Connell, 2 1/2 weeks ago-she was a classmate of Chris' at Morgan. Not a good time for any of us or for the class of 1970. Sincerely, Candace Card Casale
