Daniel M. Simeone

1928 - 2018

Daniel Simeone, age 90, passed away on June 8, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Dan was born in Hartford on January 28, 1928 to the parents of Michele and Nicolina Simeone. He graduated from Bulkeley High School Class of 1947 and was inducted into the Bulkeley High School Football Hall of Fame. Dan was a graduate of Villanova University Class of 1952 and was then drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He served in the Army during the Korean War from 1953-1955. He and his wife then settled in Farmington where he taught school in Bloomfield for 35 years. He is survived by his devoted wife Josephine from Garrett Hill, PA, his sons Daniel Jr. and his partner Barbara Seaha, Robert and his wife Mary, James and his wife Kim, his grandchildren RJ, Shauna and her husband Peter, Ariana, and Brandon, and his sister Florence Casella. He is predeceased by his brother Carmine Simeone and his sisters Mary Lagano and Josephine Simeone. Some of the happiest times of his life were traveling with his wife, playing sports with his sons, and spending time with his grandchildren and beloved dog of 12 years, Jago. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111. There are no calling hours. A service will be held at the convenience of the family.
