Danya Sutherland Obituary
SUTHERLAND, Danya "Dodie" Danya "Dodie" Sutherland, 63, formerly of Meriden, died on Monday, (February 9, 2004) at Rockville General Hospital. Born in Meriden on November 20, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Lena (Shemet) Acabchuk. She had resided in Manchester for the past six years, had attended the Meriden schools and was a graduate of Meriden High School. She was a former member of Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church of Meriden. She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Laska of Willington, Lena Holt of Hartford; a son, Daniel Sutherland of Clearwater, FL; two grandchildren, Jacalyn and Dakota; a sister, Susan Simmons of Ocala, FL; a special uncle, Henry Koncki of Meriden; also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a special aunt, Jenny and cousin, Marsha. The funeral will be held on Friday, February 13, 11 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden with Rev. Timothy Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m.
