Donna Mae Winter

Hartford --- Donna Mae Winter, 72, of Hartford, Connecticut, passed away on August 15, 2022. Born on March 1, 1950, at Hartford Hospital. She was the daughter of Annamae Turull (O'Brien) and Donald Domenick Cifarelli (Mr. Domenick). Donna was preceded in death by her husband Klaus Winter, her parents, her brother, John Cifarelli, and granddaughter Corrinne Winter. She was a very caring and thoughtful person, always putting others before herself.

Donna is survived by her loving children, Turk Winter and Domenick Winter. She leaves 3 siblings, Victor Cifarelli, Paula Zeiner, and Corrinne Lomazzo. Donna leaves her granddaughter, August Winter. Donna also leaves a large extended family including many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends She was a devoted mother, sister and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.

Donna worked her way through school while raising 2 children. She earned her college degree from Central Connecticut State University. She served the City of Hartford as an accountant. Donna had a passion for cooking. Never a bad meal had been served in her kitchen. She had been working on a cookbook that included many of the best recipes created by several generations of family members.

She loved to help others and gave back to the community. Every year she volunteered at The Salvation Army. She was a window dresser for Peter's Unisex. Donna created a seasonal window that prominently displayed artwork created by Klaus Winter (KW). Most notably, she loved animals and was a caring cat owner throughout her life.

The memory of Donna Mae Winter will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. May she rest in peace.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held October 16th at 11:00 am at Ellington Center Cemetery, 95 Maple Street Ellington CT.
