E. Pineo Obituary

E. Jean Pineo of East Hartford died recently at home. The daughter of Merville and Bertha Pineo, she was born in New Britain, CT, and graduated from Plainville High School. Jean went on to earn two Associates Degrees and a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Bay Bath University. Jean spent her entire 40 year career at Pratt & Whitney, where she had the pleasure of twice travelling to Russia for work. A voracious reader herself, becoming a literacy volunteer through her job was a proud accomplishment for Jean. Dedicating many years of service to her church, Jean rose to the status of Senior Warden at All Saints Episcopal Church of East Hartford. She was active in the East Hartford Junior Women's League for several years as well. Jean was a lifelong diehard Boston Red Sox fan, and became a UCONN Basketball fan as an adult. Jean is survived by her sister, Diane Obernesser, her nephew, Dan Obernesser, and her niece, Cathy Zickefoose, all of Glastonbury. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at St. James Episcopal Church, 2584 Main St., Glastonbury. Calling hours will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, July 7, 2023 at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury. In accordance with her wishes, Jean's family will scatter her ashes in Ogunquit, ME, where she had many happy memories. For online condolences, please visit www.mulryanfh.com.
