Esther Mader Obituary

Esther (McLean) Mader, 87, widow of Joseph Mader, formerly of Spring St. Ext., Glastonbury, and Niantic, died Saturday, (October 11, 2003) in the Marlborough Health Care Center. Born in Glastonbury, daughter of Harvey and Isa (Steele) McLean, she lived in Glastonbury most of her life. She worked part time for the former G. Fox Co. She enjoyed craft work, gardening and had a deep love of the beach where she and her late husband spent many summers. She was a Golden member of the First Church of Christ, Glastonbury. She leaves a loving daughter, Janet Shelmerdine of Glastonbury; a granddaughter and her husband, Donna Vidam and David Palla of East Hartford; and a great grandson, Josef Palla. Besides her husband she was also predeceased by a brother and four sisters. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Tpke., Glastonbury, followed with burial in St. James Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Funeral Home Tuesday, from 1 p.m. to service time. Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Conn., 11 Founders Plaza, East Hartford, CT 06108.
