VAUGHNS, Ethel Mae Ethel Mae Vaughns departed this life on Monday (November 21, 2005) at Hartford Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Lenzy and Naomi Jordan. She was married to Clifford Vaughns in 1939, and came to Hartford in 1953. She was predeceased by her daughters Martha in 1971 and Patricia 2005. She leaves to cherish wonderful memories, daughters Mary Ryals, Donna Collins and sons Simon, Michael, Scott, and Brian Vaughns, 16 grandchildren Thomas and James Ryals, Julius, Sandra, Lorraine, and Yvette Thompson, Cheris, Herman and Kareem Vaughns, (Ebony Vaughns deceased) Shicreta, Don and Simon Collins, Michael Jr, April, Jasmin, Alexandra and Shakir Vaughns. She also leaves behind 16 great-grandchildren. She is survived by brothers Lenzy Jr., Walter, James and Eddie Jordan; sisters Alice and Elizabeth Kates, Sadie Coates, Marietta Adams, Ruby Stewart, Athenia Williams, Vandella Bates, Gertrude Simmons, Mary Green, Norma Holmes, (Eva Parrish deceased). She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and friends that are too numerous to mention by name. Ethel was a founding member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church where she worshipped for over 30 years. Ethel touched the lives of many during her 82 year visit, she was found of traveling and now she will make her last journey in this lifetime Ethel will be dearly missed by her family. Clark, Bell & Bell Funeral Home on 319 Barbour St., HTFD, will be handling the funeral arrangements. Services will be held at the Latter Rain Christian Fellowship Church located at 3200 Main St., Hartford on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 10 a.m.
