Mr. Whelahan was a savior in so many ways. I loved his children and his daughter in law very much. We were good clean fun kinda girls. One day they seemed to rile up someone that looked like my mother and I ran to his home for guidance. My Nonno was dying. He brought me back home and made sure we were okay.
His leadership as I was growing up, along with Daddy´s military contract position made me the American I am today. I was blessed to attend Darren´s wedding at Corpus Christi with one of my besties, Melissa. Gee we had a lot to get through with the aggressive gangs in the Hartford area at that time. And Melissa was a great support system as I went through basketball, acting, and other activities.
His foundation providing me with the pathway towards advocacy concerning border measures in the federal government and even a stint with the Air Force ROTC.
Thank you, Mr. Whelahan for helping to keep an American family together.
I´m saddened to have missed the funeral...I sure wish I could be at every one.

Pauline, Shannon and family,
Words cannot express how saddened I was to hear this. Fred was a mentor and a friend. May you find comfort that he is at peace and no longer in pain. I will always be there should you need anything.
