Michael Timothy Whelahan

1967 - 2022

Michael Timothy Whelahan, 55 years old of Norton, formerly of Foxborough, passed away at Sturdy Memorial Hospital on October 11, 2022. Michael was born on January 7, 1967 in Brighton to the late Andrew and Sarah (McManama) Whelahan.

Michael was a 1986 graduate of Foxborough High School. He then earned his LPN from Southeastern Regional Technical Institute. Michael worked at Serenity Hill until he started his career as a firefighter in Foxborough from 1993 until his retirement in January of 2022. Michael never considered this a job he loved going to work for every shift.

Michael will be remembered as a kind-hearted comedian who would help anyone at a moments notice. He always knew the perfect thing to say in any situation.

Michael enjoyed traveling to Aruba, New Hampshire, Cape Cod and Maine. He loved spending time with family and friends. Since his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, car detailing and spending time with his side kick, Gunther, the familys lab.

He was the devoted father of Alyssa and Kevin Robillard and the loving husband of Deanne Robillard. He is also survived by his sister, Cynthia Whelahan of Yarmouth, sister Kathleen OBrien of Dennis, brother Sean Whelahan and wife Tara of Sandwich, and former brother-in-law, Hank OBrien of Bourne, as well as his nieces and nephews: Taylor Lynne, Jennifer, Henry, Charlie, William, Rylee and Kian.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 in the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. Funeral services and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Michaels memory may be made to Friends of Foxborough Fire, 8 Chestnut Street, Foxborough, MA 02035 (this fund is to help refurbish the 1938 Ahrens Foxborough fire engine).
