Gabrielle Lavallee Obituary

LAVALLEE, Gabrielle "Gaby" Y. (Lemaire) Gabrielle "Gaby" Y. (Lemaire) Lavallee, 93, of Sunrise Assisted Living in West Hartford and formerly of Northern Avenue in Northampton, MA, passed away on Saturday morning at the Assisted Living center. Gaby was born in St. Bonaventure, Quebec, Canada on March 20, 1915 the daughter of the late Antpoine and Athanaise (Trempe) Lemaire. As a young girl, she immigrated to Holyoke, MA with her family and was raised there. She was educated at the former Precious Blood School in Holyoke. She moved to Northampton after marriage to her husband, Roland Lavallee and they had resided here for over 70 years. Gaby was a devoted communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Northampton. She was an accomplished cook and homemaker and dedicated her life to the care of her husband and family. She had moved to West Hartford in 2006 to be closer to her family. Her beloved husband, Roland Lavallee passed away on July 11, 2007. She leaves three sons, Roland Lavallee and his wife Connie of Severna Park, MD.; Roger Lavallee and his wife Rita of Simsbury and Noel Joseph of Wales, MA as well as five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Gaby will be on Thursday morning from the Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton at 9 a.m. followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, all in Northampton. Calling hours at the funeral home will be on Wednesday afternoon from 4-7 p.m.
