Gary Gaudet Obituary

Gary R. Gaudet, 67, of Bloomfield, beloved husband of Sheri (Sidrane) Gaudet, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, May 29, 2021. Born on March 8, 1954 in Hartford, son of the late Allen and Edith (Allen) Gaudet, he lived in the Hartford area all of his life. Before retiring from Laborers Local 230, he worked as a foreman for Mather Construction. Gary's passions were his family and his pup Charlie, South Beach in Martha's Vineyard and his motorcycle. He was very creative and loved the simple things in life. He enjoyed waking up early to the peace of the morning, listening to the birds sing and drinking coffee to start his day. Gary was very determined and took pride in everything he did. He was most happy being home working on his never-ending projects. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone he could. Gary always had a story to tell; he wanted to write a book and felt that no one would ever believe it. He loved his family and friends in a way that anyone who met him would feel very special. His closest friends knew him as "double G". Besides his wife Sheri, he is survived by two children, Mollie Gaudet and M. Gaudet; four siblings, Barbara Beninato and her former husband, Concetto Beninato, Jr. of Bozrah, Allen Gaudet, Jr. and his wife, Ann of Broad Brook, Lenore Nestor and her husband, Sean of NH, Kenneth Gaudet and his wife, Cynthia of Meriden; his mother-in-law, Toby Sidrane of West Hartford; his father-in-law, Irwin Sidrane of VT. And many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, David Gaudet. His family will receive friends on Thursday, June 3, 2021, from 12:00PM – 2:00PM at Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Followed by a burial in Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers: donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 111 Founders Plaza, 2nd Floor, East Hartford, CT 06108 or to the Simon Foundation, 120 Rescue Lane, Bloomfield, CT 06002. To the Gaudet family, so sorry for your loss; Gary was a great guy and he was recently at my house looking at a job to do for me. He had such a big heart, he said the job was small and that he did not want any money for it! May he rest in peace.
