PEARSON, George E.
George E. Pearson, age 95, of West Cornwall, CT, formerly of North Massapequa, NY, died peacefully on March 18, 2013. George led a long and wonderful life, surrounded with love by his family; wife Esther of 56 years (who predeceased him in 2002), his children George, Don (Ann), John (who predeceased him in 1952), Mary and his two grandchildren Joe and Laura Pearson. George worked from 17 until his retirement at 65 at Turtle & Hughes, an electrical distributor, where one of his favorite projects was supplying the lights for the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. Starting as a mailroom clerk and progressing to Vice President, he worked tirelessly. If a client wanted something that wasn't available, he would make it himself in his basement workshop. George served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II in England as a bomb sight mechanic. George also was a troopmaster of Boy Scout Troop 357 in North Massapequa, NY. His love of life, nature, creating and learning was an inspiration to those who knew him. He left his mark on so many. Gone, but he will live on in so many hearts.
