We are sorry about the lateness of our condolences but just recently heard about Jerry and Jeannine's passing. We so dearly loved them. We met Jerry a few years ago when he asked to play in the Juneau Golf Club's annual tournament at Francisco Grande Resort in Casa Grande. Along with Pat Wilcox and his wife Sue, Jerry brought many smiles to the golf matches and dinners. We also met Jeannine as Jerry would bring her to our Italian dinner night. They were a beautiful couple and will be missed.

Roger, Mary and entire family,

We are so sorry for the loss you are feeling from this tremendous loss of your parents. There is no easy way to deal with the kind of emotions you are all feeling right now. After losing my parents 6 months apart at the ages of 67 & 68, I can't say it will just get better with time, because as everyone experiences each day goes by and memories will always be there for you to hang onto forever.

When I think back to our high school days and remember how they enjoyed every event and always respected and loved each other. Roger, they are and always were going to be together and they are now also.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you and if there is ever something we can do please let us know, we are only down the road.

Jerry and Jeannine,
Father, mother, grandparent, aunt, uncle, brother, sister, mentors and friends.
The lives they touched go further than any of us will ever know. They made every single person they met feel as though they were the most important person in the world to them and at the given time we were with them, we were.
I intend to Pay It Forward and practice their example of kindness and generosity as I move on in life, a lot more empty, yet somehow more fulfilled for having known them.
I am sorry for your loss and sorry for the loss everyone who knew them is experiencing. I loved them dearly and feel as though I have lost my own parents all over again. My prayers are with you all.

To the Family of Jerry & Jeannine:

My wife, Sandy & I, knew your Mom & Dad, as they attended the Sun Lakes Rotary Club functions that have been held here in Sun Lakes, Arizona. Jerry was a faithful “Frequent Visitor” and your Mom came to many of our Rotary Club functions. I received great advice from Jerry on the Golf Tournament that we held here recently, and Jerry was very supportive of our event planning and the proposed funds to be raised. Rest assured when he was here on his “vacation” he and she continued to be in the mix of the fund raising events and the outcomes.

Jerry became a close friend while he was a part of our lives here in Arizona. We will miss him greatly, and will miss his input at our Winter fund raising events. I know that I, and the other members of the Sun Lakes Rotary Club will miss his jovial manner, his stories, his love of life and miss her sincerity. Please accept our deepest sympathy. We are truly sorry for your loss.

May 14, 2008

I was just a child when I met Gerry and Jeanine Coutu. Gerry and my grandfather, John J. Bartizek, Sr., were good friends and worked together as milkmen at HP Hood so many years ago. I find it ironic that all 3 of them passed on May 12th. John Bartizek, Sr. passed away May 12, 1993. Grandad must have been there to show them the way Home. Gerry and Jeanine were always smiling, happy and very loving to all people that their goodness just overflowed to all within their reach. Their strength and perseverance of the good life consumed their everyday life. It is that we all strive to achieve and they did it together. My family --My parents, John, Jr. & Brenda Bartizek now retired in NC; my sister, Karen Bartizek married to Greg Pfountz and their son Dylan, 5 yrs old in GA; my brother, John M. Bartizek in SC; & I, Terry Bartizek, divorced, with daughter Bridget also 5 yrs old in VT, extend our deepest sympathies to the entire Coutu family and all those whose lives they have deeply touched as all of ours. May Gerry's and Jeanine's love and strength live on in all of us along with the fond memories we all share!

To the Coutu family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Gerry and Jeannine were two of the finest people I ever met. I loved seeing the sweetness and closeness between them. The community has lost two extraodinary people who made our little piece of the world a nicer place to be. I will greatly miss them. And, in honor of Gerry, I will make every day a good day ~

I met Jerry at Sam Collins day many years ago parking cars. Then when my mother joined the Canton Lions Club I would help her sell poincettias. It seemed every where I went "Jerry was there first" I couldn't believe his ability to sell but the proof was in the pudding. He was one of the kindness people I ever met. Sorry for your lost.

To the entire Coutu family I'm sorry for your lost, and wish to thank you for sharing your parents with this town and community. I know my life is better because of them. Your father taught me so much about the bussiness of selling, friendship and love. He would often share stories with me about Jeannine and how he could sell anything to anyone except Jeannine.....She was such a strong loving woman. He was my milk man many years ago. He got me into the Canton Lions Club and I sold Poinsettia's to everyone I could but I could't beat him ever, but it was fun trying. I play golf and we often spoke about playing together but I knew I was no match. I still can hear him say make it a good day. They both were a great loving team and I know they are together in Heaven. Thanks again for sharing your parents with so many people.

I am grateful I got a chance to see them last week at the restaurant and see how much they still love each other deeply. Their love is forever and they are forever together. Gerry and Jeannine played a pivotal role in my life many years ago when I needed guidance. They encouraged and pushed me to be a better person, for that I am forever grateful. My deepest heartfelt sympathy's to your family at this time.

Dear Coutu family:
So stunned to hear of the passing or your mom and dad/grandparents. They were both very loving and friendly people. I particularly enjoyed speaking in French with both of them; something that I can do with very few people. What they accomplished with that old Amseco factory building truely serves as a good examply to all of us in the local Business Council.
I will miss both of them, but find it poignant and fitting that they left us together with such an accident.
