Gilbert A. Couture

COUTURE, Gilbert A. Gilbert A. Couture, 85, of Bristol, husband of Monique (Tanguay) Couture, died Tuesday, (September 22, 2009) at the Bristol Hospital. Gilbert was born in St. Leon de Standon, Province of Quebec, Canada on September 1, 1924 and was a son of the late Achille and Rose (Grenier) Couture. He moved to Bristol in 1956, was employed at the Bristol Brass Corporation for 30 years and retired from Arthur Industries, Terryville. He was a member of St. Ann Church, League of Sacred Heart Society, and La Rencontre. In addition to his wife, Gilbert is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bernard and Mary Ellen Couture of Pinellas Park, FL and Martin and Stephanie Couture; four brothers, Urgel "Blackie" Couture of Southington, Paul and Marc Couture both Oshawa, Provence of Ontario, Canada, Michael Couture of Quebec City, Province of Quebec, Canada; a sister, Yvette Morin of St. Leon, Province of Quebec, Canada; a granddaughter, Sarah Couture; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2009, 9 a.m. from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Ann Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Mausoleum at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
