Dear Connie and Family:
It is with a heavy heart that I convey my condolences to you and to your family upon the loss of your beloved husband.
Herb was a very special kind of fellow whom we were all privileged to know. Thank you for allowing us to share this unique person.
Herb's smile, his subtle humor and his presence were a welcome addition to our "Newton Street neighborhood group".
My heart goes out to you especially now during this intense period of mourning.

Herb has left us --- but we have many wonderful memories of the four of us. You will always be with us. I only have one regret, Herb never let me sing.

Dear Connie & Family,
When Herb Rudy passed on, I lost my best friend. He had the biggest heart of anyone I ever met. About two years ago I spoke to him on the phone and he said, "You really don't sound good. I'll be over to pick you up and I'll take you to your doctor or the hospital." Fortunately I was OK. He never had a bad word about another person, and when he yelled at somebody at the shuffleboard court, they knew he wasn't serious. No one ever was more proud of his family or his home. He was constantly trying to improve his home. At every funeral, the clergy always say good things about the deceased. But with my buddy Herby, it's all true: he was the real thing. As far as I am concerned, he cannot ever be replaced.
