Isabelle S. "Izzy" Russo

1930 - 2018

Isabelle Russo, 87, died from natural causes on May 12, 2018. Isabelle was born in Hartford, CT on July 30, 1930. She was the daughter of Sebastian Rubera and Rose Faletti. She was predeceased by her daughter Angela Russo, her husband James Russo and her brother Joseph Rubera. Isabelle leaves behind her three daughters: Kathleen Russo, partner Zoe Neale, and grandaughter Cozette Russo-Neale; Andrea Russo and grandchildren Sara Bingham, Aubrey Bingham and his wife Cati Ferreri; Faith Zila, husband Bruce Zila, grandaughters Alexandra Zila and Nicole Spicehandler and husband Andrew Spicehandler, and her great grandchildren Sienna, Lucas and Liam Spaicehandler. Along with beloved family, Isabelle leaves a vast collection of adoring friends. Isabelle loved to cook and host family dinners at her home. To know Izzy was to never go hungry – you never left her house wanting for anything body or spirit. She loved being on Martha's Vineyard, playing rummy, walking the beach, dancing, and telling jokes. She was the light of every party with a contagious laugh that made everyone smile. Isabelle lived a challenging life at times enduring many hardships but found solace and comfort from her family who loved her fiercly. To be loved by Izzy was to know true, unconditional love. As she always said to family and friends, "Never say goodbye…" and we never will. Services will be held at D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Street, Middletown, CT on May 17th from 9 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Church services will follow at St. Pious Church in Middletown, CT at 11:00 A.M.
