Jason Klein Obituary

Jason F. Klein, 39, of West Hartford, passed away peacefully at home with his wife, parents and family by his side, on Tuesday evening, April 13, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Sarah Beharry Klein. Born in Annapolis, Maryland, he was the son of Fred and Susan Klein. At 3 years of age, Jason was in awe of the jets at the US Naval academy. He grew up in Glastonbury and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Following graduation from Glastonbury High School in 2000, Jason attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he pursued his passion for flight, graduating in 2004. As a pilot, Jason flew a variety of Jets, from 737s to executive jets, where he circled the globe numerous times going to many parts of the world as a pilot for United Technologies. An avid outdoorsman, Jason loved sailing, mountain biking, skiing, hiking, camping, backpacking and skeet and trap shooting. He'd also try anything, including acrobatic flying and parachuting. Jason was a voracious reader and loved music. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many. Besides his wife Sarah, he is survived by his son, Nathan, his parents, his sister, Ilana Prenovitz, her husband Scott and their two children Brielle and Cole, as well as his grandmother Selma Linsky, many aunts, uncles and cousins. Jason was a devoted friend to many very close friends around the world. He will always be loved and missed by those with whom he shared life. The entire family is deeply grateful to so many of Jason's friends and family who travelled from far and wide to see him, displaying so much love and support in his waning hours. To the end, Jason had a positive attitude and remained good natured as he fought bravely against Glioblastoma with the enduring support of his loving wife and family always at his side. The family is deeply grateful for the loving care provided by Dr. Ahmad Daher, Dr. Charles Rutter, Dr. Brendan Killory, the nurses and health professionals at the Harry Gray Center at Hartford Hospital. Jason will be laid to rest at a private graveside service at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon, Massachusetts. The family will observe a private period of mourning. Donations in Jason's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance. Now free of these earthly bonds, may Jason's spirit soar.
