LYONS, Jr., John Joseph "Jay", 71, a United States Army Veteran, passed away on April 09, 2018, in Surprise, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Joseph Lyons, Sr., and Margaret Mary Hennessey Lyons. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Nasr of Katy, Texas; brother, Paul V. Lyons and his wife, Marilyn Lyons, of Surprise, Arizona; brother, Peter J. Lyons and his wife Wendy Lyons, of Scottsdale, Arizona; sister, Martha Lyons-Holden of Fort Myers, Florida; Margaret "Molly" Fisher and her husband James Fisher, of Venice, Florida; and sister Mary Ellen Lyons of Southbury, Connecticut; granddaughter Alison Nasr of Katy, Texas; many nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and dear friend John McDonnell and his wife Susan McDonnell, of Surprise, Arizona. "Jay" was born in Thomaston, Connecticut, on December 08, 1946. In the United States Army, "Jay" was 1st Lieutenant in Field Artillery, 1st of 92nd Artillery. In 1970, he fought in the Central High Lands in Vietnam. "Jay" was an avid golfer, having won several member guest tournaments. He had a 2 handicap - Too bad though, he couldn't putt!
