PARSONS, John A. John A. Parsons, 84, of Rocky Hill, former resident of Berlin and New Britain, died Wednesday (October 20, 2004). Born December 20, 1919, in New Britain, he was the owner of Parsons Tool Company of Berlin. John also worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft of East Hartford, and Eastern Tool and Die of Newington. He was a Lieutenant in the 10th Army Air Force based in India-Burma during World War II. As a pilot he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters for performance with the Burma Hump region, logging over 130 missions in all. John was married for 55 years to F. Barbara Parsons (formerly Wall) and survived by Barbara; two sons, Colonel Bradford J. Parsons of Kensington, who is currently serving with the U.S. Army Reserves in Iraq, and Scott J. Parsons of Farmington; a daughter, Jill B. Brandt of Napa, CA; four grandchildren, Kathleen, Kristine and Zachary Parsons of Kensington and Tyler Brandt of Napa, CA; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, at 9:30 a.m. at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park. Calling hours are Friday, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Assoc., 90 Oak St., Hartford, CT 06106.
