John Pinone Obituary

John G. Pinone, Sr., 86, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of the late Alice L. (O'Hare) Pinone, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2017. Born on July 5, 1931 in Hartford, he was the son of the late John and Louise. He was a 1953 graduate of UConn, earning a BS in Economics and then served proudly in the U.S. Army. John worked for GMAC, starting out in collections before working his way up to credit manager for the State of Connecticut and retiring in 1986. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards, but his greatest joy was attending his grandchildren's sporting events. A loving father and grandfather, he will be dearly missed by his three children; John G. Pinone, Jr. and wife Annmarie of Glastonbury, Jean Ginnetty and husband Joseph of South Glastonbury and Stephen Pinone and wife Sharon of Royersford, PA and his eight adored grandchildren: Elizabeth, John, Catherine and Luke Pinone, Lauren Manion and her husband Kevin, Jennifer Ginnetty, Stephen and Matthew Pinone, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Elvira "Vera" Hughes and Amelia "Millie" Moore. The family would like to express their sincerest thanks to the staff of Right at Home, especially Evans Adarkwah, for their care and compassion over the last three years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday (December 1) at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Rd., South Glastonbury. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial with military honors will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Donations in John's memory may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, Attn: Donation Processing, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014. To share a memory of John with his family, please visit www.desopo.com.
