My deepest condolences on the loss of your brother John. John and I were good friends in high school.
I lived just around the corner from your house on Hickory Lane. After graduation from high school John asked me to join the Marines with him. I told him no I planned to join the Navy specifically Naval Air and hoped to fly and also that I didn´t want to sleep in a foxhole. During the Cuban Missile Crisis my squadron was assigned to Gitmo. I was heading to catch the shuttle to the hanger when I heard someone call my name out from a troop transport. It was John, his foxhole look at my barracks window. I have attached a picture of the two of us standing next to his foxhole in Cuba. You can see the corner of my barracks on the lower left.
Again, my heart felt sympathy toe you both and your family,
Dick Zajack
