DROUIN, Joseph H.G. "Joe" Joseph H.G. "Joe" Drouin 85 of Enfield entered into eternal peace on Monday (November 20, 2006) at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford. Joe was born in Lewiston, ME January 6, 1921 the son of the late Hermenegilde and Caroline (Levesque) Drouin, and attended local schools in Lewiston and was a graduate of The Maine Business Institute. Joe and his loving wife of 63 years Laurette (Caron) Drouin have resided in Enfield for 49 years. He was formerly employed by Pratt & Whitney Air Craft for fourteen years, and also part time with the Felician Sisters of OLA, Enfield before retiring in 1964. He also was a former crossing guard for the Enfield Public School System. Joe served his country honorably with the United States Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Bernard's Church Enfield, a member of Holy Name Society at All Saints Church, Somersville, Past Dept. Vice Commander American Legion 1984-1985, a life member of the D.A.V. Chapter 52, Enfield, Past Commander and lifetime member of the Tanguay Magill Post 80 American Legion, Enfield. Joe was Past Chairman and Past Chaplin of the Enfield Veterans Council, a life member of the V.F.W. Post 10219, a member of the AMVETS Post 18, a member of the Grand Voiture 40/8 Voiture 370 and volunteered for the Newington Campus VA Medical Ctr. Besides his beloved wife Laurette, Joe is survived by the most important people in his life, his loving family a beloved daughter and son in-law; Rachel and Alexander Kozikowski of Enfield, three sons and daughters in-law; Albert and Carol Drouin of Enfield, Gilbert and Linda Drouin of Monson MA, and Victor and Lori Drouin, of Ashford, his beloved grandchildren; Eric and Shawn, Karen and Samuel, David and Sheila, Glen, Danielle and Wayne, Lynai and Donald, Andrew and Christine, his great grandchildren; Michaila, Kylie, Emily, Jacklyn, Samantha, Genevieve, Lillian, Jason, Joshua and Candace and Jerimiah Ouelette and great-great grandchildren; Amethyst and Cia, along with a sister; Irene Perry of Auburn, ME and many nieces and nephews. Joe will be deeply missed by all who knew him, his kind approach, genuine concern, gentle manor, sense of humor and good advice touched us all. He was predeceased by two sisters; Cecile Despre and Bernadette Guerin. Funeral services in celebration of Joe's life will be held on Saturday November 25, at 9 a.m. from BROWNE MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPELS, 43 Shaker Rd, Enfield CT (Exit 48 off I-91, East on RT 220 for 11/4 miles) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saint's Church, Somersville. Burial will take place with military honors in St. Bernard's Cemetery in the Hazardville Section of Enfield. Joe's family will receive relatives and friends at Browne Funeral Chapels on Friday from 3-7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Bernard's Church, 426 Hazard Ave, Enfield, CT 06082 or the American Legion Tanguay Magill Post 80, 566 Enfield St, Enfield, CT 06082.
