Joseph Fenz Obituary

FENZ, Jospeh Joseph Fenz, 89, of Glastonbury, died Wednesday (November 22, 2006) at Salmon Brook Nursing Care Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Anne (Kvadus) Fenz. Born in New Britain on March 19, 1917, he was the son of Michael and Sophie (Swilka) Faenza. Joseph served his country during World War II as a Seabee in the US Navy. He played semi professional baseball and umpired for many years. He spent his professional career in the food industry, working for several local restaurants, including the Hawthorne Inn, Raffa's and Angelo's Restaurant. He owned Otto's Restaurant in Hartford. He is survived by three sisters, Ann Castagna of Newington, Chris Regini of Sarasota, FL, and Lottie Matthews of Palm Coast, FL; a brother, Henry Faenza of Simi Valley, CA; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a brother, George Faenza, and two sisters, Helen Koloski and Mary Piccoli. A graveside service will take place Wednesday, December 20, at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Winthrop St., Tariffville. There will be a gathering in his memory at Angelo's Restaurant, 2750 Main St., Glastonbury on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 6 p.m.
