I just saw this. The Howard family lived two houses from me. Mr Howard was a kind man that I thought the world of. I remember him helping me handle newspapers when Jamison was ill.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Howard. I remember him as a little kid, taking us to hockey games, or watching us play later on at Avon. He made us feel important and I've always respected him greatly. Plus I want to thank him for teaching us it was okay nor to wear socks. All of the Cosgroves send their thoughts and prayers to the entire Howard family.

Joe Howard was one of a kind and he will be dearly missed. My heart is broken...I loved that man. Joe had limitless charisma and was always the quintessential gracious and charming host with his Bride as he would always say when referring to his lovely wife Anne Howard. I always felt blessed to see Joe at Apricots....his smile, wonderful deep laugh and extrodinary grace made you feel like you stepped back in time to a bygone era where pocket squares and elegance mattered. Joe was a man that truly loved life, and it showed. From playing tennis to driving around Farmington in his station wagon, then van...he was a fixture in Farmington and everyone loved him. There was never a time at Apricots, where Joe didn't offer us a complimentary drink and sit for a few minutes to catch up. He and Anne made dining at their restaurant a fabulous evening. Everything sparkled even more when Joe Howard was there greeting and taking care of everyone who entered like family. He was like Cary Grant...dashing and handsome...and always had a twinkle in his eyes. Truly present and always so happy to welcome people into the splendor he and Anne created that was Apricots. An entire community will be lost without that smile.Sending you love my friend up with the Stars and sending my love to Anne and your entire wonderfully family. You will be terribly missed. Many, many years ago "Au Burge Pierre" became Apricots. Being very pregnant, while dining at
"Au Burge" the owner ran around collecting decorator pillows to place under my feet I was impressed. I still excused myself and left, impressed. The next year "Au Burge" turns into Apricots and I must see this restaurant. But, again I was with second child and the story seemed to be repeating it self. Joe noticed that I was stifling pain and came over to ask what he could do for me? Embarrassed, I lied and said nothing. Joe returned with the perfect shape pillow and size to tuck behind my back, instantly releasing tension. 'One can say, the other one does. I became a patron. I loved their family dynamics, the front door in the winter time, the chili at the bar,and of course Joe sitting at the end of the bar, laughing, telling a joke, yet surreptitiously, scanning the floor not missing a beat. I am saddened by your personal void that has been shed upon your family. The Howard Family is in my prayres.
