LAFLIN, Josephine (Cohan)
Josephine (Cohan) Laflin passed away peacefully on March 13, 2013 at her home in West Hartford. She was born Nov. 10, 1916, the daughter of the late Bertha Seide Cohan and Harry Denton Cohan. She was the wife of the late Harold Cohn and Jack C. Laflin. She leaves her beloved daughter Paula-Rae Cohn, the joy of her life. She is survived by her devoted sister, Shirley and Henry Seltzer of Madison and Brother Robert C. Cohan of Farmington. She is also survived by her dear nieces, Diane Levy and Jill Cohan, Linda Jainchill, Jan Bernard and Grace Cohan. Her nephews, Dr. Steven Levy, Attorney Michael Jainchill, Dr. David Bernard and Investment Consultant Jeffrey Cohan. She was predeceased by her nephew David Seltzer and friend Sal Lucca. Josephine was fortunate to have many friends who loved her. Her loyal friends of many years, Joyce Holstein, Frances Dubrow, Ella Norwood, Selma Waxman, Muriel Denowitz, Jeanne Elma. As well as special friends Joannell Lucca and son Steven Lucca who became family to her. Special thanks to Kathy DeJesus, who gave more than TLC. A loyal friend to the end. Jo traveled extensively with the love of her life Jack to Europe, Russia, the Orient and many other destinations and cruises. Jack and Jo where a devoted couple who enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a member of Wampanoag Country Club, The Hartford Host Lions Club. Jo loved the outdoors, swimming in her pool, traveling and family and friends. Jo will be remembered for her kind heart and her passion for life. She will be missed.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 17, at 11 a.m. at Congregation Beth Israel Cemetery , Ward St., Hartford. Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, West Hartford has care of arrangements.
