Lori Spranzo Obituary

Lori Denise (Farrell) Spranzo, 62, of Colchester, beloved wife of Albert, doting mother of Stephen, Patrick and Kenneth and cherished sister of Kim, passed away Thursday (Nov. 29, 2018) at Hartford Hospital after an extended illness. Born July 30, 1956 in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late James and Doris (LaMothe) Farrell. Lori had studied at CCSU and worked as a legal secretary for a time, but her true vocation in life was caring for her family. She was her sons' greatest fan and she was active in supporting their participation in both soccer and baseball in their youth. Along with her husband, she enjoyed being at the beach with family and friends, cooking and skiing before her illness. In addition to her loving husband of 32 years, her sons and sister, she leaves her close in-laws, step mother, Shirley Farrell, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. She was predeceased by her brother, James. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the hospital caregivers on the ICU and Palliative Care Unit at Hartford Hospital for their kindness and support. In her passing, Lori was able to give the gift of life through organ donation. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation from 2 – 5 PM Sunday (Dec. 2nd) at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 9 AM Monday (Dec. 3rd) directly at St. Andrew Church, 128 Norwich Ave., Colchester. Following Mass, burial will be in the Farrell family plot in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield and then a Repass at the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
